We were honored to be a part of the 1st Annual Koblenz Raptors Softball against Bullying Indoor Fast Pitch Tourney. This tourney was a great success! Six teams from several European countries traveled to support Softball against Bullying and Teen Suicide awareness. Teams from Germany, Belgium, Holland and Luxemburg were represented with players from all over the world! The purpose was to raise awareness for Teen Suicide and Bullying. Money was also raised that will go the the German Organization, AGUS, (see previous post about new charity we are involved with), and the HIRA PROJECT that was so important to our daughter.
There were many people there that we had never met before. Our softball family certainly grew on that day. We have so many people to thank. First off, this would not have happened without the driving force and will to succeed of Mr. Tobi Schmidt.
So many volunteers working behind the scenes. This team found sponsors for the balls used in the tourney. Umpires contacted the organizers asking to work the games at no cost just to be a part of this great event. Chili making, cake baking, hot dog cooking and a myriad of other things all done with straight open-hearted volunteerism! All this was done to minimize expenses and maximize the money to be donated to charity.
A great day and thank you all so very very much!!
