Remembering Ciarra by helping

011da152b2c57917a305c1d3c7f97995fed02ec18eAs many of you know, the thought of my daughter being forgotten is a scary and driving force in my life. Much of the charity work that we have done so far has been driven by this simple, yet overwhelming, fear that I carry every second. I know that she was my world. I know that some, if not many, of the people reading this post may not have even met her during her short life.

The blessings that we have received since losing our daughter are many  the friends and family that are still here for us amazes us everyday.  We can not thank all of you by name.  We hope that you know we love you all.

The main charity event that we do every year is the Ciarra Joi Rhodes Memorial softball tournament. This third annual event will be held 27-29 May 2016 at the softball fields in Babenhausen, Germany.  The teams are already selected and we apologize to the many teams that wanted to participate that we just could not accommodate this year. We hope that many people not playing will come support us as has happened in the past.  This tournament is unlike other softball tournaments. One hundred percent of the money raised will be donated to charity!!!

We are looking for help.  You can help in many ways  we have prepared a sponsorship letter in both English and German language to help explain why we do what we do.  If you are local maybe you can come and enjoy this weekend with us. Maybe you could spare a few hours to help us with preparations, food and drink sales and a myriad of other things.  Maybe you are involved with the press and could help us spread the word about teen suicide and help prevent someone from making a decision that impacts so many.  Monetary donations are also gladly accepted to off set the costs of the tournament so that we can give away more money to charities that help in the suicide arena.

if you are not local you can still help by maybe talking to other people about what we do.  Raising money to support us and make this event even better.  I will attach the sponsorship letters to this post. If you can help we would greatly appreciate it.

there will be softball the entire weekend. Friday night we kick off with a home run derby.  We will also have one for the youngest players  of course, this means the kids!  This is a family event all the way around. Saturday brings the games and in the evening, a players party with raffle and auction of many things  this is our main fund raising event.  If you have some sports memorabilia or other items that you could part with of value we will use these items to help stop teen suicide!

We are very lucky to have a band playing for our players party this year.  The band Back in Time has volunteered to play for us at no cost  we can not thank them enough.

Come help us, come have fun, come and raise awareness of teen suicide  this is an epidemic.  We can help. You can help.

As always: THANK YOU ALL!!!!!!!!

  1. MATTHEW L. MCCLINTOCK

Dusty and Tina, as you know from the very first CJR tournament I was truly impacted by what had happened to your family as well as hearing the news about how your daughter passed away. I’ve taken a strong interest in this Charity since the get go. I’ve never been able to donate big money, but i have found other ways to contribute to this great cause. This year i’d like to continue donating what i can. I have some more personal sports memorabilia that i will be donating for the auction. I of course will gladly give all the money raised during this time to you and the charity in which so many other people have willingly donated too. I want to personally thank Tina and You for being strong, when God knows you had every right to be weak, and last but not least Thank You from the bottom of my heart for always being there for people when they call on you for help. Hoping that this year brings in more money to raise awareness on but not only teen suicide, but all suicide. Thank you.

  2. Thank you Matt! As you know, helping is important to us be it with time, talk, or money. What you are doing will help! Thank you and Bless you and your family my friend.
